3 cups of Grated Coconut(fresh)
2 cups of Jaggery
1-2 tbsp Roasted fine semolina
1 tsp of cardamom powder
2 tsps of Roasted poppy seeds Powder
2 cups of maida
1/4 cup water
oil/Ghee 4 tbsp.
Prepare a dough with maida (All purpose flour) and 1 tbsp oil. Add water and make a soft dough which is a bit oily. keep aside for 1-2 hours.Take a non stick Tava and place it on a medium flame.
For the stuffing:
Mix the Jaggery and coconut in a pan ,to this add cardamom and poppy seeds powder and roasted fine semolina 1 - 2 Tbsp and mix it thoroughly. Keep stirring to get the consistency thick enough to make balls for stuffing
Take a small ball sized dough and roll it into a chapathi and stuff the coconut ball and roll it over again into round shaped polis. Flip this over the hot Tava on both the sides till done with a dab of ghee & it's ready to savour ! Enjoy!!
