Jeera Rice with Peas:

Here's an Aromatic and appetizing Indian Rice Dish that can be served with, most of the "Veg and Non-Veg" curries.This Rice dish post is for
Paz's Theme:" For the Love of Rice"



Ingredients:

Basmati rice- 1 cup
Water- 3 cups
Cumin seeds- 2 tsp.
Bay leaves- 2-3.
Cinnamon stick- 2 nos.
cloves 2
Cardamoms- 2
Ghee or Oil- 2 Tbsp
Boiled Peas- 1cup
Salt To taste


Method:

Wash rice thoroughly and soak 20 mts. Drain thoroughly. In a pan, heat the Ghee/oil& add the cumin seeds, bay leaves, cardamoms, cinnamon and cloves. When the cumin seeds sizzle, add the rice & salt to taste.. stir this till the ghee coats raw rice . Now add the water& bring it to a boil. Reduce the heat and partially cover the pan with a lid and cook till the rice is done .Mix in the boiled peas at this point& spread the rice for the grains to separate & it's ready to serve with the curry of your choice.
